Mission:
The Butte High Silver B’s are a 501 (c) (3) organization interested in preserving the history and memories of Butte High Football.

The mission of the Butte High Silver B’s is to support and honor our active members and future members. We will accomplish this mission by:

Growing our active membership
Holding an annual induction ceremony
Hosting Butte High Football Lettermen dinner(s)
Providing a scholarship(s) and/or awards for eligible senior football lettermen

We commit to this mission for our members, our future members and the communities we serve as we look to establish and support strong relationships at every opportunity.

This information will help us in our quest to more efficiently stay in contact with all Bulldog Lettermen who are part of this very special “one of a kind” group! The following is a historical quote from the Silver B 1951-52 Yearbook which was issued at the October 19, 1951 Reunion/Dinner

The Silver B’s

As you know this organization includes all Butte High School football lettermen of twenty-five years or more. B.H.S. football men of fifty years ago are given a Golden “B” emblem exemplifying their place in the evening of life.

Twice each year these men get together in Butte for a good time…to renew old acquaintances and to play at least a half-dozen football games. The kicks are beyond your imagination, the passes you never dreamed of, and the yardage gained is something for the book!!! You’ll just have to be present.

The first get-together is a banquet at the homecoming game in the early part of the season honoring the new Silver B’s. The second pow-wow is a dinner to pay tribute to the present high school team.

The Silver B’s still function in the interim of the two special occasions mentioned above…sending flowers to sick members; remembrances to those men who pass on; memorial plaque to the World War II veterans; and the general interest and welfare of our high school boys.

This organization has stayed intact and very active in the Butte community for 85 consecutive years…something that we are very proud of. We are trying to uphold the values of the organization and improve upon them each and every year. A big thank you to all members who have participated since its’ establishment in 1940…to 2024!
